Time to Ditch DNC-MSNBC Corruption — Boycott Propaganda System Now

Bernie Sanders continues to lead Trump.

Madison, Wisconsin — The 2019 campaign for the Democratic Party presidential nomination appears at a tipping point as major candidates call out the corrupt DNC-media system for its marginalization of progressive candidates and character assassinations spewed at a rate that makes Fox News blush.

"I don't know who the Democratic Party is. I just don't know who they are anymore," Terrance Warthen, co-chair of Our Wisconsin Revolution, (MSNBC), lamented in 2017.

It's worse now.

Progressive candidates — Tulsi Gabbard, Andrew Yang and Bernie Sanders — are alternately maligned and minimized in the corporate coverage though the three lead the field in championing the concerns of a solid majority of Americans.

It's almost funny to watch corporate democrats — led by Hillary Clinton, CNN and MSNBC's prime-time line-up — emit hysterics and abuse against Gabbard, Yang and Sanders

For example, Rep. Gabbard (D-Hawia), an Army combat veteran and sitting congresswoman, is continually defamed as a Russian agent or foreign dictator's supporter by Hillary Clinton and the corporate media because of Gabbard's opposition to catastrophic wars.

Gabbard has perhaps the most compelling personal story. She enlisted in the Army after 911 and was deployed downrange, (Iraq 2004-05; Kuwait, 2008-09), "serving in a base in the Sunni Triangle at the height of the war[.] Tulsi had the heart-wrenching daily responsibility of going through the list of every injury and casualty in the entire theatre of operations, looking to see if any soldiers in her unit were on the list, so she could ensure they received the care they needed and their families were notified."

The Democratic National Committee and corporate media has become so brazen in their enmity towards progressive candidates that Tusli Gabbard preemptively boycotted the next DNC debate to be held on Dec 19.

For a number of reasons, I have decided not to attend the December 19th "debate" — regardless of whether or not there are qualifying polls. I instead choose to spend that precious time directly meeting with and hearing from the people of New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Several major candidates have already hit the DNC and its allied news network for their machinations in secretly choosing which polls decide who gets the free national air-time in the debates, and who gets blacked-out in continuing news coverage.

Drop MSNBC

As Andrew Yang has pointed out, the progressive candidates don't need the corporate news networks, if disaffected voters are sufficiently mobilized.

The #YangGang has taken the lead in dropping MSNBC, allied in effect with Tulsi and Bernie supporters.

Corporatist Dems on GOP Wins across Nation: Ahh, Bernie Sanders Did It

Bernie Sanders has frightened neolib Democrats by advocating the popular Medicare for All healthcare bill.

Only the Democratic Party is so out-of-touch, it could lose a race against Donald Trump and then blame Bernie Sanders.

So now, Daily Kos—which infamously called for all Democratic-voting citizens to rally to behind Hillary Clinton in March 2016—and Hillary bots around the nation are pretending the 2016 election never happened and Hillary did not deliver Donald Trump as president.

It's August 2017 and corproatist Dems are asserting the same young, minority and working-class families whom Sanders brought into the political process are going to be the cause of the 2018 mid-term losses, losses which corporatists are already anticipating. And that's Bernie Sanders' fault too, says Dana Milbank.

Dems will likely make Milbank Communications Director.

In reality-land, Our Revolution notes of the healthcare-for-all idea: 

The U.S. spends more on health care per person, and as a percentage of gross domestic product, than any other advanced nation in the world, including Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. But all that money has not made Americans healthier than the rest of the world. Quite simply, in our high-priced health care system that leaves millions overlooked, we spend more yet end up with less.

Other industrialized nations are making the morally principled and financially responsible decision to provide universal health care to all of their people—and they do so while saving money by keeping people healthier. Those who say this goal is unachievable are selling the American people short.

Americans need a health care system that works for patients and providers. We need to ensure a strong health care workforce in all communities now and in the future. We need a system where all people can get the care they need to maintain and improve their health when they need it regardless of income, age or socioeconomic status. We need a system that works not just for millionaires and billionaires, but for all of us.

Democratic Party Freezes Out Grassroots in Wisconsin, Nation

Updated - Someone should ask U.S. Rep. Ron Kind (D-La Crosse) why the national and Wisconsin Democratic Parties (DPW) are shutting out grassroots primary challenges against congressional incumbents.

WisPolitics is holding a luncheon for Rep. Kind to discuss policy issues at The Madison Club, 5 East Wilson Street in Madison at 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on March 29 next Tuesday.

Rep. Kind is facing a tough primary challenger in retired teacher Myron Buchholz (D-Eau Claire).

Kind is chair of the corporatist New Democrat Coalition and a champion of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) 'trade' agreement now before Congress.

Buchholz opposes the TPP and is making the loss of manufacturing jobs and campaign finance the centerpiece of his campaign. Buchholz launched his congressional run in February.

One would think in progressive Wisconsin, in the tradition of Bob La Follette, voters should pick their representatives, not Party bosses.

Candidate Buchholz found out the Democratic Party bosses protect entrenched incumbents like Kind, who has received over $16,000 from the Koch brothers, (Craver, The Capital Times).

Money Talks, La Follette Walks

Democratic Party of Wisconsin (DPW) Chair Martha Laning is protecting Kind and the special interests funding his six-figure gig as a nine-term member of Congress.

Laning tells the Democrat in good standing, Myron Buchholz, that the DPW's voters' list, (Voter Activation Network (VAN)), will not be made available to Buchholz for his challenge to Rep. Kind, (Blogging Blue), (Cognitive Dissidence).

It's about money.

The money from the Koch brothers is nothing compared to the top four special interest sectors forking over money to Kind—Insurance, Pharmaceuticals/Health Products, Health Professionals and Securities and Investment—who have collectively donated over $391,000 in the 2015-16 election cycle alone, (Open Secrets, Center for Responsive Politics).

As of Dec. 31, 2015, Kind had over $2 million on hand and raised well over $1 million in 2015-16.

Name of the Game Is Money from Special Interests

Kind and the DPW are not unique. Shutting out, and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) hopes shutting down, grassroots challengers is a national phenomena.

"The Florida Democratic Party will not allow me access to our party's (voters') database and software because I am running against an incumbent Democrat," said Florida congressional candidate, Tim Canova (Fulton, Common Dreams). Sounds familiar.

Canova is mounting a grassroots challenge against the six-term congresswoman and chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Florida).

Message from the DNC, Schultz and the Party insiders' favorite, Hillary Clinton, to challengers fighting special interests is clear: Get lost, (Iannelli, Broward-Palm Beach New Times).

[Note: Breaking news out of Florida: "After being denied access to an important voter file that could help his campaign, Democrat Tim Canova, who is challenging incumbent Debbie Wasserman Schultz this August, will now get access to a campaign tool called the Voter Activation Network (VAN)," (Perry, Florida Politics).]

Missouri and other states report similar challenger obstruction by the state's Democratic Party.

"(N)ews outlets in Missouri reported last month on the fight over VAN access in that state, 'several Democratic candidates—who are also Ferguson movement leaders,' were blocked from the files by the state party. As one of the candidate's campaign managers put it, 'The sign almost says, 'Newcomers need not apply.'"

The DNC has become a funnel for special interests and Myron Buchholz and Tim Canova are not the right kind of special. The kind with a dollar sign and six figures to donate for services rendered.

This begs the question of Kind, posed by Myron Buchholz, which side are you on, Ron Kind?

The Hillary Clinton email story has turned out to be a blockbuster after-all:

Newly released emails show a 2009 request to issue a secure government smartphone to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was denied by the National Security Agency.

A month later, she began using private email accounts accessed through her BlackBerry to exchange messages with her top aides.

The messages made public Wednesday were obtained by Judicial Watch, a conservative legal advocacy group that has filed numerous lawsuits seeking the release of federal documents related to Clinton's tenure as the nation's top diplomat. ... 'These documents show that Hillary Clinton knew her BlackBerry wasn't secure,' Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch, said Wednesday. 'The FBI and prosecutors ought to be very interested in these new materials.' (Michael Biesecker, AP).

Wonder why the big rush from Clinton surrogates to get behind Hillary Clinton?

We note again it would be very difficult for the FBI and U.S. DoJ to release the results of ongoing probes, or prosecute the presumptive Democratic Party nominee for any crimes.

So, Clinton needs the premature designation as presumptive Democratic Party nominee.

Hillary Clinton has unfavorable v. favorable ratings of minus-12 points, (updated daily at Huffington Post).

This new development won't help.

Next Up for Dems: Arizona, Idaho and Utah

The message emitting from Hillary Clinton's campaign continues.

Same as the message from August 2015: Hillary Clinton is the one, and to borrow from the Clinton campaign's words fed to the media last year, "At the Democratic National Committee meeting in Minneapolis, where Clinton spoke on Friday, senior Clinton campaign officials are claiming that she has already secured one-fifth of the pledges needed to win the Democratic presidential nomination," (Bloomberg Politics).

The delegates-won total at this point is: Clinton-1,112 delegates, Sanders-806 delegates; with 2,382 delegates needed to win the nomination. The delegate figures exclude superdelegates who won't vote until the Democratic Party Convention held the week of July 25, 2016. (RealPolitics).

Next Tuesday are elections in Arizona (winner take all), Idaho and Utah. The first three of 29 more Democratic Party elections and caucuses Clinton's campaign and surrogates want the media to believe won't matter.

"The second half of the calendar appears more favorable to Sanders than the states that have voted so far," notes Nate Silver this morning. That's an understatement.

Silver wants to believe in a static contest, a bizarre notion that he cannot believe to be true.

Call me "unrealistic" as Clinton supporters are apt. But consider on June 7 alone California and New Jersey vote (along with four other states), and California and New Jersey alone comprise 39 percent of the 2,382 delegates needed to win.

The New Dealer-Ike-LBG-Great Society Bernie Sanders is in to stay. Last night shows why.

"Sanders continued to bolster his electability argument in tonight’s contests. Among groups that hold special significance in general elections, like young voters and independents, Sanders performed particularly well," notes Tom Cahill.

Sanders' domination of young voters was overwhelming last night again.

Delegate Math Favors Surging Bernie Sanders

In the heavily front-loaded Democratic primary of 2008, a number of delegates equal to 89% of the total needed to win nomination had already been awarded by the end of Super Tuesday (February 5th). 1,886 delegates had been awarded, 2,118 needed to win. Clinton was about 45.5% of the way to the ultimate goal, and Obama was slightly behind at 43.5%.

Here in 2016, as of today only 54% of the total delegates needed to win have been awarded. (1,290 out of 2,382 needed). Clinton is 31.4% of the way to the finish line, while Bernie Sanders is 22.75% of the way there.

After tomorrow's contests (FL, IL, NC, MO, OH), 83.42% of the total delegates needed will have been awarded.

It won't be until after NEXT Tuesday's contests (AZ, ID, UT (March 22)) that we finally get to the same point in the 2016 primary where we were on Super Tuesday 2008: 89% of the total delegates needed to secure nomination will have been awarded.

Bernie Burns Hillary and Pollsters

Hillary Clinton is the Scott Walker of national politics: Identifying special interests with big money and pitching 'give me money, I'll do whatever you want.'

But the desperation of the coronate-Hillary Clinton-now project is now apparent.

As noted at In These Times, (Daalder):

Michigan represents the largest turnaround yet. RealClearPolitics’ average anticipated a Clinton win by 21.4 percent.

Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight noted that, before Sanders' [Michigan] ’victory, 'the candidate with the largest lead to lose a state in our database of well-polled primaries and caucuses was Walter Mondale, who led New Hampshire by 17.1 percentage points but lost to Gary Hart in 1984.' Now, that candidate is Hillary Clinton.

The Democratic Party primary map is now Sanders-favorable, (Mother Jones), after the front-loaded southern states have already held their elections.

Look for Hillary dirty tricks and an effort to demonize Sanders, ala Clinton's work against Obama in 2008.

Sanders' win in Michigan demonstrates his FDR-Ike-LBJ domestic populism is alive and well, and the Hillary Clinton's corporatist sell-out is increasingly viewed with distrust.

Laurence Shoup traces The Clinton Dynasty and the Shadow Government (subscription required) at Z-Magazine noting the Clintons sucked up some $ 3 billion mainly from banks, hedge funds, securities firms and insurance companies.

This $ 3 billion tracks the 40 years since Bill launched his first run for Congress in 1974, and the Clintons peddled their idea in the 1970s of enlisting Wall Street in the Clinton's corporatist vision of the Democratic Party.

"The Clintons’ fundraising operation — $3 billion amassed by one couple, working in tandem for more than four decades — has no equal," notes Shoup in a piece in the Washington Post last year.

Throw in the neo-cons with whom the Clintons are politically intimate, and a Clinton foreign policy would see a closer allegiance with the savage Sunni dictatorships in Saudi Arabia, Egypt ... , and the ultra-rightwingers in Israel. This means more war.

So Clinton has major elements of Wall Street and the military-industrial complex behind her candidacy. This fact helps explain why congressional democrats are humiliating themselves on the national stage.

However, as Hillary Clinton's me-or-the-highway approach to American politics becomes more apparent with each passing day, even superdelegate sell-outs in Congress and Democratic Party hacks will look askance at overruling the popular vote for Bernie Sanders in June.

To overrule the American voters would split the Democratic Party and throw the general election to Donald Trump. Hillary's sense of entitlement may allow this, but not even elected congressional Democrats would abide.

By the way, Hillary Clinton's unfavorable v. favorable ratings is at minus-12.3 points, (Huffington Post). Don't see that changing much after 40 years of sleaze.

Why Hillary Clinton Should Suspend Her Campaign Now

Hillary Clinton has unfavorable v. favorable ratings of minus-14 points, (Huffington Post).

The American people have lingering trust issues with Hillary Clinton.

The critical 18-29 demographic think Clinton is corrupt and dishonest.

So, naturally the DNC and surrogates today are blaring March 15 is the day we get-behind-Hillary Clinton, no matter that most of United States would not have voted including New York, most of the north and the west coast, (Democratic Strategist).

Why the rush? Why call for excluding most Democratic-voting citizens in their right to choose their president.

Because the Democratic Party primary map from March 15 forward is Bernie Sanders-favorable, and the probe of the "FBI Director James Comey, an experienced prosecutor and consummate professional with some 100-150 agents investigating the Democratic front-runner, the Clinton Foundation, and (presumably) several of Hillary’s closest aides: Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills, and Jake Sullivan," continues (Lipson, Real Clear Politics) and will eat at Hillary trust issues.

In May 2008 Hillary's ambitions led her to a different conclusion: "Hillary Rodham Clinton says she will remain in the presidential race 'until there's a nominee,'" (Huffington Post).

So what is the surrogates' song in 2016, (Hillary won't say it herself), that all Democrats and progressives must jump on general election footing behind Hillary.

One reason to get behind Hillary is it would be very difficult for the FBI and U.S. DoJ to release the results of the probe, or prosecute, the presumptive Democratic Party nominee for any crimes.

Hillary Clinton can put all of this to rest in two ways: One, issue a statement that the Democratic Primary must continue until there's a nominee.

Two, do the best the thing for country and suspend her campaign now and save the republic a lot of trouble.

As Hillary Clinton implausibly pushes the message the Democratic Primary for the nominee for the presidency is over, voting in the Democratic Party primary is falling off.

As the chart at top indicates, the race, to borrow a football analogy, is in the first quarter if actual people are the measure.

The national delegate map shows most of the northern United States, the entire west coast and that large segment of folks in the northeast  called New York have yet to vote.

So it's odd to read the apparent puzzlement of Democrats over declining Democratic voter totals as "2.6 million fewer Democrats voted in the first 15 primaries and caucuses," (NPR).

To Queen Hillary, not so fast. Let voters
decide, and pass the word to the DNC

It may be the Democratic National Committee's attempted rigging the presidential primary to coronate Hillary Clinton is a factor in declining voter interest in an election cycle unlike any other in modern U.S history.

The editor of Wisconsin's progressive daily newspaper is repeating, for reasons surpassing understanding, his November 2015 call for all Democratic-voting citizens to "get real," and fall in line behind the neocon, Wall Street, TPP-advocating (for it before she was against it, (CNN)), lock-up-the-'super-predators' queen.

It may also be that a critical demographic—the 18-29 year-old voters—whom Bernie Sanders is dominating should be assured their votes will count and will not be overridden by superdelegates, party insiders who may yet screw this race up.

It's anecdotal but nevertheless this 18-29 generation to an extent greater than others sees the system, understandably, as inherently corrupt. It is.

Whether Democratic Party insiders are contemplating cutting ties to Clinton because the "U.S. Justice Department has given immunity from prosecution to a State Department employee who helped set up and manage the private email server Hillary Clinton used for her work as secretary of state," (Goldman, Post), sending the message to voters the race is over, (as against reality), is pretty fracking stupid.

Nicole Wallace Hits Hillary-DNC Rigging of Dem Presidential Primary

Moments before Donald Trump delivered his victory speech in the Nevada Republican presidential caucuses last night, Nicole Wallace laid out a problem the Democratic Party presidential nominee faces in the general election campaign, if the nominee is Hillary Clinton.

Wallace, a former White House director of communications in the Bush adminstration and a panelist on MSNBC covering the Nevada Republican caucus results, pointed out the Republican Party presidential primary race is set up to award the nomination to the winner of the popular vote and individual states, and the Democratic National Committee is rigged to coronate Hillary Clinton.

Instead of a grassroots favorite like Donald Trump who appears to be the presumptive Republican nominee now, Democratic Party bosses and insiders are working to frustrate Democratic voters by substituting the will of the high number of superdelegate insiders for the American people who show up at Democratic Party primary and caucuses to cast their votes.

"Most Republicans look at the superdelegate process as a corrupt way for Hillary Clinton and [Democratic] Party leaders to put their finger on the scales against a guy in Bernie Sanders who most grassroots liberals adore. The fact that our [Republican] process plays out without Party bosses is something that I would expect liberals to find a nice thing about the Republican presidential [nominating] process," said Wallace.

Putting aside the fact RNC Chair Reince Priebus is an empty suit, Wallace is spot-on.

Guaranteeing Democratic Party voters, in Wisconsin (April 5 presidential primary), Ohio (March 15), Florida (March 15) and Pennsylvania (April 26) for example, their votes count in the Democratic Party presidential primary would be nice, and democratic.

Telling these same voters the DNC, Hillary Clinton and surrogates will be the deciders is not nice and corrupt, and if these facts are effectively communicated by the GOP could be catastrophic for the Democratic Party.

Consider post-Citizens United (see Justice Stevens' narrow concurrence), the dystopian world of dark money, the Koch brothers, congressional corruption, the Republican-led U.S. Senate improperly blocking a a presidential nominee to SCOTUS, ("the Senate has no pre-nomination role at all in the appointment process," (Fallone, Marquette University Law School) and
(SCOTUSblog Obama, A Responsibility I Take Seriously); and still the Republican Party occupies the high ground on the democratic nature of their party's presidential nominating campaign.

Only Hilliary Clinton and Debbie Wasserman Schultz can surrender the high ground to the Republicans.
