White-out at GOP Pres Debate

Haven't seen this many white people since I lived in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Check out Joe Wilson's shot below of the "audience at the Coors Events Center at the University of Colorado Boulder on Wednesday during the Republican presidential debate." (Wilson, New York Times).

Not so popular with the brown and black folks, wonder why?

Latinos Tell GOP: Stop Demonizing

The forces of hate in the Republican Party are loosed upon a population already targeted by the rightwing.

Republican Latinos, are speaking up on the eve of tonight's GOP debate and delivering a message to Republicans: Knock it off.

Without demonizing black and brown, the Republican Party is listless.

Allegra Kirkland at TPM has the story:

According to NBC, Tony Suarez, Executive Vice President of the National Hispanic Leadership Conference, said Trump's candidacy 'needs to be canceled like his last reality TV program.'

Mr. Trump has become a promoter of hate, division and insult,' Suarez said. 'If Mr. Trump were to be the Republican nominee — I don't think he has a chance at winning the general election.'

I doubt if Trump or any Republican contending for the presidential nomination will say, 'enough hate, now' tonight.

Hate is what the Republican Party does.

Defend Innocent Prof and You Are an Anti-Semite?

So says one Publius after my comments defending an innocent black Harvard professor and hitting the lack of liberal condemnation, too many abiding by the dictum that we don't want to challenge racism too much, lest we offend racists and their enablers. Bad politics.

"[T]hat anti-Semite MAL ... ," writes Publius.

The charge came out of nowhere, no context in my defending Henry Louis Gates, ignoring a lifetime of work against bigotry. And not surprisingly Publius hiding behind anonymity supplies not one piece of evidence for the foolish charge.

Such is the virtual country we live in where the forces against racism have been lulled into complacency, and an anonymous coward feels free to make up perhaps the most vile charge one can imagine in modern history.

For more information on the use of the fake anti-Semitism charge, see:

Don't Monitor Political Thought

Update: Intelligence analysts at the Homeland Security Department ignored objections by civil-liberties officials before sending out a controversial report on the resurgence of domestic right-wing extremism, a department official confirmed Friday.

Last week's release of the publication Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment (7 April 2009 ) by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is ludicrous.

I love anti-hate groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center because of their humanism and abiding exposure of and rebuttals to rightwing whack jobs.

But monitoring the political thought and activity of Americans ought not be the business of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or any other governmental agency.

From the DHS report:

This product is one of a series of intelligence assessments published by the Extremism and Radicalization Branch to facilitate a greater understanding of the phenomenon of violent radicalization in the United States. The information is provided to federal, state, local, and tribal counterterrorism and law enforcement officials so they may effectively deter, prevent, preempt, or respond to terrorist attacks against the United States.
Look, if American citizens wish to hold and develop crackpot ideas and conceptions, that's their right and their business. In other words: The DHS should butt the hell out.

I never thought that I would agree with much that Michelle Malkin says, but she is right on in writing, "The 'report' (PDF file here) was one of the most embarrassingly shoddy pieces of propaganda I’d ever read out of DHS. I couldn’t believe it was real."

This report could just as easily been written by J. Edgar Hoover or John Mitchell in the 1960s-70s by inserting blackpower, civil rights and peace for "antigovernment," "white supremacist," and "rightwing extremist" groups.

Fond du Lac Police: Neo-NAZI Cards Not "blatantly offensive racially," says report

Update III: Fond du Lac Police Captain Steve Thiry: "Obviously, people were offended," or we would not have investigated the incident. The Fond du Lac Reporter's piece gets knocked down.
Update II: Check out the xenophobic comments on the bottom of the Fond du Lac Reporter's piece, and you can understand why Neo-NAZIs in Fondy are in a word: Worrying.

I read with disappointment this morning's report in the Fond du Lac Reporter on the neo-NAZIs leaving their business cards on the car windows of several participants of a Hispanic-Latino event last week.

The "Aryan Wear" group's cards asks if the car-owners had "had enough diversity?"
The card is pictured at right.

The lede in the Reporter piece by Sharon Roznik reads: "Fond du Lac police said the content of anti-diversity cards left on the car windows of several participants of last Thursday's 'HOLA!' event is neither threatening, nor blatantly offensive racially."
What?

What is so insidious about institutionalised racism is that it's sometimes difficult for some to recognize it when it presents itself, making an argument to persuade on the merits of racism [there are none] all the more difficult.

Yet I have to question either the reporting by Roznik or the perspicuity of the Fond du Lac Police. [Note: Fond du Lac Police Captain Steve Thiry just phoned and said, "Obviously, people were offended," or we would not have investigated the incident.

Are we to believe that a group advertising itself as "Aryan" and denouncing "diversity" is, as Roznik reports the Fondy police say, not "blatantly offensive racially"?

Are you kidding me? Are the Fondy police really that dumb? Did the police really make this value judgement? No.

This is the neo-NAZI group, "Aryan Wear" advertising their website and blasting "diversity": http://aryanwear.com/

The Fond du Lac Public Library is an outstanding institution serving as a counterweight to what is often a xenophobic city, a city in which "nigger" jokes were routinely heard during this writer's elementary school experience at Elizabeth Waters elementary school.

I'm curious and I'm going to follow up on these questions: Are they kidding me, since when are Aryans not "blatantly offensive racially"?

A Challenge to Fondy Neo-NAZI: Let's Meet

To the racist coward(s) who left hate cards at a Hispanic-Latino diversity event held last night at the Fond du Lac, Wisconsin Public Library: Let's meet.

And I'll write a piece on your views.

Your group's Fond du Lac contingent, the neo-NAZI "Aryan Wear", comes out only at night, in the dark.

I'm from Fondy, pick a dark alley there, I'll find it and I'll come.

Neo-NAZI Acts at Fond du Lac Gathering on Hispanics and Latinos

Update: Washington Post - Bad Economy May Fuel Hate Groups, Experts Warn

Michael Leon

A social diversity event held last night at the Fond du Lac, Wisconsin Public Library entitled "¡Hola! Hispanic and Latino Experiences in Fond du Lac" was marred by a card left on the car windows of several participants by a neo-NAZI "Aryan Wear" group asking if the car-owners had "had enough diversity?"

The card is pictured above-right and was obtained by e-mail from Ken Hall, director of the Fond du Lac Public Library.

The card was left on the car window of a highly-placed Fond du Lac City official, Hall said he heard this morning.

Hall was an event attendee who also had the card left on his own car window last night.

Fond du Lac Police are interested in and actively investigating the incident, according to a police official contacted by phone this morning.

Hall estimates that some 70 people showed up at the event.

"Inside, there was a good discussion going on, a nice group of people exchanging views, And outside there was some coward in the night, sad. He would have been welcome to come in and talk," said Hall by phone this morning.

Another event attendee, a long-time Fond du Lac resident who parked just outside the Library on Portland Street, said, "Fondy has its racism in the past, I'm not surprised, but I feel bad to have that kind of hate staring you in the face."

A similar anti-Obama, racist flyer was left on car windows during the election, reports a Fond du Lac resident speaking on background.

The site, Aryan Wear - Aryan Wear, White Power T shirts, Nationalist Clothing, features various "white power" and NAZI paraphernalia, including a link to an audio recording of the racist fantasy book, the Turner Diaries, and patches and other body wear. [Pictured below are some of the hate links from the Aryan Wear site.]

Twenty Years of Rush

Today, HUMAN EVENTS begins its week-long "celebration of Rush Limbaugh's 20th anniversary in national radio."

Well, I guess that we have to applaud Limbaugh's success (impressive) and the guy does have on-air talent.

But we can take solace in the fact that many red states full of Limbaugh listeners may soon end up voting Democratic for the first time in a generation.

Limbaugh made his mark by connecting to misogyny, assorted bigotries, and a frustration that elites (not corporate elites), this mythical New York-East Coast-Hollywood band of elites are keeping the white man down.

Facts never were important to Rush, just the joy and expiation shared by his listeners of mocking FemiNAZIs and anything Democratic and liberal, except Joe Lieberman.

But maybe Limbaugh is right about something: America is in such bad shape that the country looks to finally elect one of them in November.

What the hell is this country coming to?

Supreme Court Piece Gets Revealing Angry Response

The following text (in two e-mails) below was received from timkisting@aol.com, commenting on a brief analysis (SC Decision Striking Down Gun Control Is Fine with This Progressive) on the Supreme Court decision, District of Columbia v. Heller (07-290), that was picked up in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel on Sunday.

Well, let's hope this guy, timkisting@aol.com, doesn't own a gun.

The ad hominem attempt (below among many) to insult by raising the possibility of my being a "fag" merits a reply: Being gay is okay. As is working for the people residing in "Milwaukee's ghetto population".

Thanks for reading, timkisting@aol.com.

But perhaps, you ought to consider a change of vocation, like training pit bulls or reviving the KKK as a bulwark against "Milwaukee's ghetto population" and its "fag" sympathizers. I bet that would pay well.

Your (sic) an idiot, you rip the US Supreme Court because it has a conservative bent. You liberal cut and run coward cockroaches are the ones that are the most partisan, corrupt losers of our day. You whine when conservatives expect YOU to work rather to live off government handouts living out of mommy and daddy's basement. President Bushes (sic) greatest legacy, will be Roberts and Alito, which will alter correctly and fix the liberal blunders of past courts. Now if we can only get rid of Stevens and Ginsburg. McCain will do that in the next 4 years. Before you cry out in rage, saying Barrack Hussein Nobama will win! LMAO 20-30% of democrats like my mother and father WILL NOT vote for Hussein and WILL vote for McCain. Older Americans will vote for the war hero over the admitted crack smoking Muslim Manchurian candidate put up by the liberals. It will be 58-42% win for McCain, as Obama will not win 1 southern state and will lose Ohio and Pennsylvania badly. The liberals will cry out in disbelief, claiming fraud and other sore loser talking points. LMAO, and for you fat fuck liberal cockroach, BUSH and CHENEY will never be impeached much less removed as they have done nothing wrong. In fact moonbat liberal loser, lets take a vote now. In the senate you wouldn't get 15 votes to impeach and in the House you would not get even a 100 votes. Get ready for at least 8 more years of republicans in the White House, GUARANTEED!!!!!!! I will put up my salary which I am pretty sure is 5-6 times what yours is to make the bet?

PS (sic) Calling yourself "progressive" is a way to hide your self loathing, self realization that being a liberal is wrong and self hating. GET a JOB become Republican, start liking yourself again, or commit suicide, either way, your loss would be no big deal

Don't read your blog, did you cry like a whiny fag bitch, when Gableman kicked "Loophole" Louie Butlers (sic) ass in that last election? Giving Wisconsin a conservative edge, negating our dumgass (sic) loser Govenor (sic). By the way, outside the Peoples Republic of Madison, and Milwaukee's ghetto population, this state is predominately a conservative state.

Update: Come on liberal cockroach, respond to anything that I said, but like a typical liberal cockroach, when confronted directly with their lies and slander, they scurry back under the rock from which they came. Devoid of ANY original thought, unless given to them from moveon.org.
