Judge Hearing DOJ Voter Suppression Case Is No GOP Tool

We have a corrupt Attorney General Van Hollen fronting for the national GOP against Wisconsin's Government Accountability Board (GAB) that is sticking up for Wisconsin voters.

Van Hollen's DOJ Complaint was filed with Dane County Judge Maryann Sumi's office.

So who is Maryann Sumi?

Sumi is listed as a supporter of former Wisconsin Supreme Court Judge Louis Butler on his website for his unsuccessful reelection bid.

Butler was defeated by the GOP political machine on April 1 by former Burnett County Circuit Judge Michael Gableman.

Sumi has been on the bench since 1998 and enjoys a reputation as a fine jurist and political liberal, informed observers say.

  1. From what you are saying, Judge Sumi is a tool of the union bosses. She has a grudge against the rightfully elected officials that the majority in this state wanted to represent them. It appears that the goal is to have her legislate from the bench. It is a very sad day for democracy in this state when a county judge can override the mandate of the majority of Wisconsin citizens. This is a pathetic comment on our society today when a small minority that has been coddled by protectionist rules (the public unions) can use legal tricks to try and overturn the will of the majority of the people (Wisconsin citizens).

  2. Believe you posted in the wrong piece.

But the Conference Committee substitute bill was considered in clear violation of
Wisconsin open meeting laws that give the public the right to express, petition and
object and rise up in support or opposition to proposed legislation.

Without an open government, we have no democracy; yet you apparently applaud
secrecy in your support of the GOP’s position in this matter.
