Obama, Dems Beat Back Neo-fascist Counteroffensive

The radical Tea Party-GOP forces went all in on their desperate gamble to split through and divide democratic forces of the United States of America and install a white, racist, neo-christian, misogynistic axis answerable only to the plutocrats.

We won, they lost.

GOP strategists, because of the changing demographics of our country, have acknowledged this is the last time the Party-GOP can wage such a national campaign.

They tried to illegally obstruct blacks, browns and homeless veterans from voting; they largely failed thanks in large measure to the work of committed jurists and civil libertarians and the committment of the Americans the rightwing hates..

I worked in Fitchburg, Wisconsin yesterday and all day, a steady stream of black, brown, young and old voters poured into our fire station polling place, smiling, hugging, and laughing as a single GOP election observer looked on sternly, occasionally loudly voicing objection if an Obama button were showing through womans' coats. Not polite to look so closely, NAZI bastard. We laughed at him anyway.

My niece with Tammy in Milwaukee this week
Fitchburg turned out in near-record numbers, with Obama garnering 70 percent of the vote.

And Tammy Baldwin beat Tommy Thompson to fascist anger everywhere.

As Joshua Holland writes this morning: "The diverse, creative, younger coalition that propelled the first black president – a guy whose middle name is Hussein – to the presidency, beat back what may well have been the last stand of Ronald Reagan's coalition of plutocrats, white working-class men and religious conservatives."

President Obama wrote last night:

I want you to know that this wasn't fate, and it wasn't an accident. You made this happen.

You organized yourselves block by block. You took ownership of this campaign five and ten dollars at a time. And when it wasn't easy, you pressed forward.

I will spend the rest of my presidency honoring your support, and doing what I can to finish what we started.

But I want you to take real pride, as I do, in how we got the chance in the first place.

Today is the clearest proof yet that, against the odds, ordinary Americans can overcome powerful interests.
Right on, Mr. President.

Nate Silver on Wisconsin: Obama has 91 percent chance of winning state

Nate Silver has increased Obama's proability of taking Wisconsin to 91 percent, hence it appears unlikely that Wisconsin is in play for its 10 electoral votes.

What is it play is the Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisconsin)-Tommy Thompson race.

And in our deepest hope the Democrats retaining one house of the Wisconsin legislature gerrymandered by the Republicans last year. The Koch brothers have dumped a lot of money into Wisconsin, and Walker and the radicals have their hands out spread wide.

Mitt Romney-Paul Ryan privatization schemes shining through now

Romney-Ryan on earned social insurance:
Let 'em die
George W. Bush's audacious scheme to phase out Social Security in 2005 died a sudden death as an array of political forces joined to defend the popular social insurance program.

Still, this election cycle the Mitt Romney-Paul Ryan privatization schemes targeting not just Social Security, but also Medicare and Medicaid are being revamped as the GO-Tea Partiers repeat the billionaries' cry that these programs are unsustainable.

The AARP, with the ready backing of many allies, is 100-percent behind protecting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid against the newest efforts to destroy these popular programs, and that includes Tommy Thompson's promise to do wway with Medicare and Medicaid..

And the AARP is mobilized to politically strike at the heart of Romney-Ryan and the party's plan to destroy these programs, to save them, they now say.

Open GOP ridicule of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid is playing with fire. Hence the "save" language.

Check out the AARP's 2012 election coverage, and watch the debates.

You've earned a say on the future of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, the powerful AARP says.

Even if Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan disagree.

Tommy Thompson taking hits on hostile stance against Medicare, Medicaid

Trashing popular social insurance programs is not working for Tommy Thompson and GO-Tea Party.

From Daily Kos:

Thompson's poll numbers have suffered an epic collapse and now to make matters worse, he's had his own version of Mitt Romney's "47%" video, specifically a video from a Tea Party event in June dug up by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel where Thompson bragged about "finishing off welfare" and said he'd "do away" with Medicaid and Medicare. And not too surprisingly, Tammy Baldwin and her campaign are all over it:

"Tommy Thompson now says he wants to 'do away with Medicare,'" Baldwin spokesman John Kraus told TPM. "He supports the Republican plan on Medicare that will provide billions in new profits for big insurance companies and a voucher for seniors instead of the guaranteed benefit they paid for...It's clear Tommy is not for Wisconsin anymore."
Kraus swiped Thompson, formerly the state's governor and President Bush's Secretary of Health and Human Services, as a "quarterback for George W. Bush on a sweetheart deal for drug companies."

Tammy Baldwin and Claire McCaskill Tageted in US Senate Races

The American rightwing—from the U.S. Chamber of Congress to the Club for Growth to anti-choice groups—are targeting Tammy Baldwin and Claire McCaskill in attacks ads that can only be described as neo-fascist.

So, we have the religious right and the One Percent joining forces as never before.

In modern politics, the proposition that Democratic Party and the GOP-Tea Baggers present no appreciable policy difference in no longer tenable.
