Who Signed Recall-Scott Walker Petition Is Not News

Readers would think Jason Stein, Patrick Marley and Daniel Bice of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel would know better than to run their McCarthyesque piece on a judge who signed the 2011 Recall Scott Walker petition, per Article XIII, Section 12 of the Wisconsin Constitution.

The piece identifies the judge as someone "with at least minor involvement" with the probe.

So what?

Judges can and should vote; judges can and should sign Recall petitions against public officials who are corrupt and act against the interests of the Wisconsin citizenry, if they wish to vote and sign.

Stein, Marley and Bice are good journalists.

One must believe they know better than to play in the McCarthyite field.

Democurmudgeon asks of Stein, Marley and Bice, "Did they have to brand Buffalo and Pepin County Judge James Duvall as an evil 'Democrat,' or someone that signed what is now Scott Walker's Recall Blacklist."

No.
