Hawks in Fitchburg

Some 60 feet in an Ash tree
Our neighbor shot these hawks with a telephoto in the tree in our front yard.

Could be a hawks' nest, maybe a falcons'.

We know for certain that parts of squirrels, rabbits, birds and other small animals are ending up in people's lawns up and down the street.

We see the adults flying around the neighborhood, very fierce-looking, unlike the chicks.
Here's a shot of the parent "AJ," looking mean, at right.

Shot was taken by me with a pedestrian lens, but this raptor looks imposing when you see him in person staring down at you from the trees.

The adults fly around often.

Better shot of AJ below, taken by Don Kosterman.
