McCain Win Would Be a Blow Against Liberty

The above headline is not how the Washington Post puts it: A Win by McCain Could Push a Split Court to Right.

The Post likes to mislead.

But it is civil liberties that would suffer from a McCain win: Liberty for women, for the accused, for those suspected of challenging political orthodoxy, one can go on.

The founders of this country explicitly warned of the dangers when the tyrant (for instance Bush and Cheney) declares his just powers over the liberty of the people, and viewed with suspicion those who would defend the tyrant's powers, like four members of the Supreme Court.

The Republicans are the Party vigorously working to decrease the liberties of the individual and increase the power of the Executive branch, as the Democrats too often capitulate.

Republicans look to a factional and corrupt Court to enforce their anti-liberty aspirations and their political power.
