Raw Story is running a five-part series by Larisa Alexandrovna and Muriel Kane on the Don Siegelman affair, Democratic governor of Alabama from 1999 to 2003, and an innocent man imprisoned by corrupt U.S. attorneys directed by Karl Rove.
Despotism has arrived in America when one’s alleged crime is mere political opposition to the ruling regime, landing one in prison.
Fortunately, the Bush Department of Justice is not monolithic and all-powerful.
Consider the character of Bush, Rove, Cheney and today’s GOP: Disagree with us (God's party) after reaching a certain level of prominence and we’ll throw you in jail, if we can.
How can the GOP think that way? Isn’t this repulsive to them? What about liberty and rights?
No, it’s today’s GOP, and any Republican not objecting to this disgrace bears some responsibility for it.
In Wisconsin, we have our own version of this disgrace in the U.S. Atty Stephen Biskupic prosecution of the innocent Georgia Thompson. Both the Siegelman and Thompson prosecutions are under investigation by U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary.
In Wisconsin, Congressmen Sensenbrenner, Petri and Ryan: Where are your voices?
