Walker and the Republicans Guilty of Attempted Murder of Democracy

The absurd
Outrageous.

The Republican Party of Wisconsin does not even pretend to care what the people of Wisconsin think or what the law is.

Though its anti-collective bargaining bill:
  • is under adjudication on several fronts
  • is the object of a judicial restraining order
  • is wildly unpopular
  • was conceived and passed under a cloud of duplicity
Gov. Walker and Department of Administration Secretary Mike Huebsch pretend it's just a routine day on a routine bill.

"Today the administration was notified that the LRB [Legislative Reference Bureau] published the budget-repair bill as required by law," said a statement from Administration Secretary Mike Huebsch. "The administration will carry out the law as required" (Jason Stein of the Journal Sentinel).

No mention by the Governor that what just transpired will rightfully be the source of outrage and massive legal challenges.

Just a we-can-do-whatever-we-want stance from an administration the likes of which Wisconsin has never before seen.

This unpopular law will likely be voided or reversed at some point on procedural [read lawful] grounds or through the legislative process.

But Walker and his regime have now entered the realm of lawlessness and anti-democratic, even tyrannical use of power where even an explanation to the people of Wisconsin is deemed not to be necessary.
