Wisconsin Job Growth Data Paint Bleak Picture of Scott Walker Years — 2011-2019

Defeated Gov Scott Walker (R) has not apologized
for Wisconsin's slow job growth during his tenure.

Madison, Wisconsin — Wisconsin lags far behind its neighbor and the rest of the country in recovering from the 2008-09 great recession, shows a graph authored by pollster Charles Franklin.

Slowed job growth during the Gov Scott Walker years (2011-2019) is striking when compared with Minnesota and the United States at large following enactment of controversial policies touted by Walker repeatedly as "bold reforms," the jobs data show.

Franklin used data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, Total Gross Domestic Product for Wisconsin [WINGSP], retrieved from Federal Reserve Economic Database (FRED), Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

The slow job growth during the Walker years will not come as a surprise for Wisconsinites who voted out Scott Walker as Gov Jobs Failure and ScottHoles became associated with his tenure.

Scott Walker Refuses to Commit to Full Term; Backs off on Jobs Pledge

Scott Walker makes no jobs promises to the Wisconsin people anymore, refuses to pledge to commit to another full term, and has held ZERO Question and Answer sessions with Wisconsin voters.

It takes contempt, utter disrespect, Scott Walker has for Wisconsin voters to refuse to answer a simple question about any of these matters.

Disrespect is all Scott Walker has, besides a lot of money from special interests.

Walker was asked if he would serve a full term last April; Walker refused to answer with a yes or no, saying he was so focused on serving another term that he couldn't commit to serving a full term. (Marley, Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel) That's WalkerSpeak.

Writers are asking Walker to commit to a full term. So should Mary Burke.

Voters should demand that Walker respond to his central and repeated 2010 campaign promise that Wisconsin would add 250,000 private sector jobs during his first term as a floor.

Walker will break that campaign promise, period.

"I want my Cabinet secretaries to have branded across their heads, '250,000 jobs,' I want them to know their job is on the line because my job is on the line to create 250,000 jobs in the private sector," said Walker said at a December 2010 meeting of the Dairy Business Association [DBA]. It's appropriate Scott Walker made his broken promise at the DBA, a larger collection of bull-shitters than you will ever find in Wisconsin, excepting the Walker's Office of the Koch Brothers.

Minnesota, Illinois GOP Guv Candidates Say They Will Follow Scott Walker

Even as Wisconsin under Scott Walker brings up the rear in job creation in the Midwest, Republican candidates for governor in both Illinois and Minnesota say they want to follow Scott Walker.

Under fire from stories reporting GOP gubernatorial nominee, Bruce Rauner, hit the fundraising circuit this week at his ranch in Montana, following revelations that Rauner hid personal investments by funneling holdings into the Cayman Islands to avoid taxes, as first reported in the Chicago Sun Times(Dave McKinney).

Scott Walker's political trajectory is headed downward even in the face of a mediocre Democratic opponent who largely avoids campaigning in face-to face encounters with the Wisconsin people, just not as much as Walker.

Today's brand of Republicans look at Scott Walker and like what they see.

Attacking working families isn't working

Wisconsin is the second-worst state in the nation as rated in the six-month forecast made by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia's leading index predicting economic growth in the 50 states for the next six months.

Forty-ninth of 50, nothing good to report from Wisconsin.

Maybe Scott Walker thinks taking an ax to public schools, polluting the environment, taking away community control, stopping voters from voting, attacking women, and attacking the working class; while spending a tremendous amount of time out of state will magically make this dismal report, preceded and followed by many more dismal jobs reports, just go away.

Scott Walker's Dismal Failure on Jobs

Lie, lie and deny.

Scott Walker's continuing failure on jobs is met with celebration by Republicans and Tea Baggers.

Reports Rick Romell:

'These are exciting times in Wisconsin,' Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) said in a statement. 'Our economy is back on track and jobs are being created across the state.'

Assembly Minority Leader Peter Barca (D-Kenosha) and other Democrats pointed to Wisconsin's job-creating record compared against other states - 44th by the most recent data available.

'If Republicans spent half as much time creating jobs as they do spinning lackluster job numbers, Wisconsin might not be falling so far behind in job creation,' Barca said in a statement.

Wisconsin's economy is back on track?
