Will a Frustrated, Rejected Scott Walker Amp-up Attack on Wisconsin

"[Scott] Walker is in danger of being the guy known for not having a good — or any — answer to tough questions. That's particularly poisonous for him, given that he is running on leadership and truth-telling. ... But Walker cannot afford to become merely a culture war avatar of grass-roots resentment against the 'lamestream media.' That's the route to a radio show, not the White House," writes Jonah Goldberg in the LA Times.

This is why Scott Walker did not hold even one question-and answer session with the Wisconsin people. So, I repeat here Scott Walker will never become the GOP nominee for the presidency.

Walker is both deceitful and uninformed on policy, and is now engaged in running a national fundraiser disguised as a presidential run trading in on Wisconsin's natural resources, the safety of Wisconsin families, local community control and a world-class public university system.

As Walker is exposed as a lightweight and quite possibly humiliated on the national stage by his refusal or uninformed responses to simple policy questions, he may take it out on Wisconsin that he proposes devastating in his state budget, an agenda on which he dare not have campaigned.

Since 1966, Wisconsin has had four-year terms for its governors.

If Scott Walker were to face the Wisconsin people in a presidential-election year, he would lose badly, likely Wisconsinites who passed the referendum enshrining four-year gubernatorial terms in the Wisconsin Constitution regret doing so as November 2016 would not be a happy occasion for this delusional, little man named Scott Walker.

Wisconsin faces devesation when Scott Walker comes back to the segregated parts of the state and the cocoon of racist rightwing radio. Walker will not hold his first townall-style, question-and-answer listening session.

Walker is called a "conservative without a conscience," by John Dean but this vastly understates the vindictiveness of a statist, corrupt troll who has no hesitation in imposing major public policy decisions tucked into a 'budget' proposal with no public deliberation, and will destroy cherished environmental landmarks and protections out of spite, and aim to make the most vulnerable of Wisconsinites such as seniors to become more challenged as he wishes to cut Wisconsin SeniorCare, for example, begun by Tommy Thompson.

The next big fight in Wisconsin: Consideration of the Scott Walker budget that will force a handful of GOP senators to make decisions for Wisconsin over the Party.

Scott Walker has disqualified himself from consideration for the American presidency by comparing protesting Wisconsin families to ISIS in a question-and answer session. His attempts to walk back his comments merely reinforce the fact this man is unfit for public office, much less the U.S. presidency.

National media ought to look into why Scott Walker avoids townhall-style question-and-answer sessions, holding zero in Wisconsin as governor.

Walker is a lightweight who can't think on his feet and has a pedestrian understanding of public policy, and no understanding of foreign policy.

An animated Scott Walker told a huge gathering of conservative activists that his battle with protesters in Wisconsin shows he has the mettle to take on ISIS as commander-in-chief.

"I want a commander-in-chief who will do everything in their power to ensure that the threats from radical Islamic terrorists do not wash up on American soil," Walker said.

"We need a leader with that kind of confidence. If I can take on 100,000 protesters, I can do the same across the world," said Walker, who drew repeated cheers from the audience at the Conservative Political Action Conference, an annual gathering that draws thousands. (Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel)

This is typical Scott Walker of course, viewing Wisconsin families with whom he disagrees as terrorists and enemies.

The DNC put out a statement saying, “If Scott Walker thinks that it’s appropriate to compare working people speaking up for their rights to brutal terrorists, then he is even less qualified to be president than I thought"

So I say again Scott Walker can't handle policy questions.

Scott Walker is in Rick Perry territory, and much deeper than even Perry staggered in 2011-12.

I tell you as one of 100,000s who was at these rallies in 2011, at one event with my young nieces, Scott Walker comparing families with the most cold-blooded terrorists in the world is disqualifying for a number of reasons all of which lay bare Scott Walker's limited ability.

Walker four years ago said he considered planting agents provocateur among the citizens protesting the Wisconsin budget bill. This ought to be have provided a hint into who Walker is.

Scott Walker Is Unfit

Even The National Review bashed Walker for this latest exercise in imbecility. Writes Jim Geraghty: "That is a terrible response. First, taking on a bunch of protesters is not comparably difficult to taking on a Caliphate with sympathizers and terrorists around the globe, and saying so suggests Walker doesn’t quite understand the complexity of the challenge from ISIS and its allied groups. ... [Protesting citizens] they’re not ISIS. They’re not beheading innocent people. They’re Americans."

As Alec MacGillis writes in Slate: Protesters "were armed with signs and earmuffs, not swords and balaclavas."

Two - An elected representative does not "take on" the citizenry. This is America, he or she listens, gives people a hearing and then deliberates and makes policy.

That Scott Walker does not understand this foundation of democracy in the United States and that citizens are not ISIS make him unfit for office. Wisconsin families are not ISIS, Gov. Walker, not even "close."

Scott Walker Meltdown Lesson: Don't Trust National Pundits, Except Nate Silver

Even today the well-regarded Larry Sabato ranks Scott Walker as a "First Tier" candidate, along with Chris Christie and Rand Paul.

Dr. Sabato should perhaps update that Crystal Ball.

Sabato was joined by virtually the entire D.C. commentariat in this ridiculous assertion that this corrupt lightweight from Wisconsin could ever function on the national stage, though most progressives just wanted Walker out front so he could take a fall.

Political writers at Cognitive Dissidence and I am proud to note, this site have been saying for years that Scott Walker as a presidential candidate is a joke that is not going to happen.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Dan Bice also knew better, saying Walker is not an "ideas guy" who could quickly become the Rick Perry of 2016 if Walker ever threw his hat into the ring.

Now, that Walker's political trajectory is plunging towards the bottom of Wisconsin's Lake Mendota, time to say I told you so. From last year:

And about that other guy from Wisconsin, Paul Ryan ... Paul Ryan will never be president of the United States. He's as fake as Walker, just not as dumb.

I have to admit to schadenfreude watching Scott Walker's faux run for the GOP nomination for the presidency, encouraged energetically by national political journalists.

Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel columnist, Dan Bice, wrote in April 2013 that Scott Walker is not an "ideas guy," suggesting someone as error-prone as Walker who can't think on his feet "could earn him the distinction of being the Gov. Now, it is revealed Scott Walker told a rightwing blog in January how he voted for Ronald Reagan. Only problem is Walker was 13 and 17-years-old during Reagan's two elections in 1980 and 1984.

I mean how can someone not remember whether or not he voted for Reagan, emphatically so when he was not old enough to vote yet?

Does anyone really need any more evidence this guy is a lightweight and a pathological, if petty liar?

Blogging Blue and The Political Environment have the story. "I remember, I was a teenager, had just become a teenager and voted for Ronald Reagan— limited government, you know, smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense. You knew what you were getting. You knew how a Reagan administration, a Reagan presidency was going to be better for you," Walker said.

And how do you "just become" a teenager and then vote?

This rumination of Walker's demonstrates anew Walker's penchant for making things up to fit his grandiose conception of himself, his inability to think on his feet and a level of deceit not seen in Wisconsin politics since Joe McCarthy.

And of course one can see why Walker hides from public encounters with the Wisconsin people, with the first and second John Doe probes casting doubt on his character, with more criminal records to be released.

Scott Walker Still Won't Run

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's Dan Bice in April 2013 wrote Scott Walker is not an "ideas guy," suggesting someone as error-prone as Walker who can't think on his feet "could earn him the distinction of being the Gov. Perry of the 2016 campaign."

Bice didn't say it but Walker is a lightweight, still enchanted by the fact that billionaires will talk to him and tell him what to do as governor of the state of Wisconsin, with occasional input from the "Savior."

Walker can always count on the corporate press to forget history, as the press dutifully records Scott Walker met with the Nation of Patriots military/veterans' group out on a summer fundraiser.

• Yes, Gov. Walker—but didn't a shady character with no veterans' advocacy experience whom you personally appointed to military veterans' groups—proceed to embezzle $10,000s and get criminally charged and convicted? You remember, it was this year that Timothy D. Russell was convicted.
• Gov. Walker, didn't you also personally order that management of the veterans' group be reorganized so your appointee, Russell, could run things as he saw fit?
• Did you apologize to the Nation of Patriots for what you did? I mean these patriots have long memories, right?

These questions were not posed by the corporate press, nor any fact mentioned of Walker's history of involvement with appointees who embezzled from veterans' non-profits.

Does anyone believe that this guy, Scott Walker, is really going to run for president?

He is going to bank a lot of money and come back to Wisconsin and announce he just wants to serve the people of Wisconsin; the corporate press will then dutifully report the later fiction.

Larry Sabato: Scott Walker Leads Wide-open GOP Field

Political prognosticator Larry Sabato is no Nate Silver; only Nate Silver is.

But Sabato is good.

Sabato's Crystal Ball out today continues to rate Scott Walker as among three "first-tier" Republican presidential candidates considering a run for the GOP nomination.

In fact, Walker is number one in Sabato's analysis.

I think Scott Walker should go for it; and run on his record on ethics, demonstrated intelligence and job creation.

Writes Sabato:

Meanwhile, Scott Walker continues to hold the top spot on our list because we believe that if he decided to run, he could potentially appeal to both the party’s defense hawks and its fiscal conservatives. In the event of a Paul-Christie duel (or a battle among others) for the soul of the Republican Party, Walker could present himself as a consensus choice whose nomination would avert a GOP identity crisis. Yes, we realize that Walker might end up being a disappointing national candidate — he very well might not have the swagger, fundraising chops, rhetorical ability and national base of support to make much of a bid — but in our view he continues to lead a wide-open field.

I don't believe Scott Walker is going to run for president in 2016.

All Walker is going to do is pretend to run, and suck up as much money as he can from out-of-state interests to defend his abyssal jobs record after unequivocally promising in the 2010 campaign that Wisconsin will have 250,000 new jobs at the end of Walker's gubernatorial term.

As of early Summer 2013, Walker is at some 49,000 private sector jobs, no where near coming close to meeting his 250,000 jobs promise by the end of 2014, with Wisconsin bringing up the rear for job growth among its border states.

If Scott Walker were re-elected governor in November 2014, he would be forced to effectively declare his candidacy for the presidency by announcing the formation of his presidential exploratory committee within some seven months after the gubernatorial election.

No, Walker is going to go the way of Sarah Palin—live off the taxpayers, then get out, and grab a job trading in on his extremist posturing and Ayn Rand ideology that trashed the state of Wisconsin.

Jennifer Jacobs reports: "A contingent of Wisconsin media came to report on Walker, but few national political reporters were here, unlike at the 500-person fundraising dinner featuring U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky two weeks ago. Paul’s speech was televised live on C-SPAN for a national audience."

Scott Walker's Inability to Think on His Feet May Doom Presidential Run

Scott Walker: Wait, wasn't protesting families, April rain caused job loss

I asked Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel political columnist Daniel Bice in an online Q and A in mid-April what he thinks about a Scott Walker run for president, in the face of a national press that likes to feast on dumb hicks from Wisconsin.

Replied Bice in part:

Gov. Walker is not an ideas guy like Mitch Daniels. You saw that during his recent Sunday morning TV appearance discussing gay marriage. Walker trotted out the idea of having [government] get out of the marriage business and leaving that to religions. Not a great idea for any number of reasons. A couple of errors like that during a presidential debate could earn him the distinction of being the Gov. Perry of the 2016 campaign.

Ideas are not Walker's strong suit. And answering straight questions with straight answers would be a first for Walker who is overestimated as a communicator.

Walker often makes inexplicable, uninformed and baffling statements, and he hasn't yet been called on it with what political experts refer to as 'follow-up questions.' Hence, Walker's refusal to appear outside of GOP radio and the like.

In front of the national media,Walker may look like a buffoonish, clumsy con man.

Frankly, Walker has been an embarrassment for the state of Wisconsin and you can almost hear the groans across the nation when he stumbles into the GOP primary debates.

He will not be looked upon with the suppressed smiles directed at a somewhat endearing foe's misspeaking—like with what happened with Rick Perry's "oops" moment when Perry forgot what three cabinet departments he so needed to cut—which could be looked at as stemming from the fatigue resulting from the many GOP debates.

Walker is not benign, nor will he provoke smiles from opponents.

I think the national political press is getting tired of the over-heated Walker, Ryan, Priebus Wisconsin-Koch show.

This is not to suggest that Republican presidential primary campaigns are phenomena intended to provoke thought from the candidates and the electorate. Quite the opposite.

But the 2012 GOP primary did demonstrate that coherent lies applied to policy, and appeals to racism and nativism are required in this neo-fascist fest, and I just don't think Walker has the chops to do that on a national stage.

I mean how does Walker handle the first question about his top aide and confidante, Tim Russell, who stands convicted of stealing from veterans used as props by Walker?

Let's see what comes out of Des Moines this-coming week.
