Krugman Draws a Picture

From today's Krugman blog on the return of depression economics:

"I was alerted to this Media Matters post, revealing that people still don’t get why the current slump is different from the early 1980s, and why fiscal policy is necessary this time. Yes, I know, it’s Joe Scarborough; but still …"

"Anyway, it’s the zero lower bound, stupid. And here’s the picture to make the point": [See above.]

Rachel Maddow Knocks Down Blowhard Joe Scarborough

Just saw this posted on AmericaBlog by Joe Sudbay. Medicine for those of us who would like Mica Brzezinski to tell Scarborough to shut the hell up:

Love Rachel Maddow. She's willing to call out John McCain on the facts, yes facts. Meanwhile the rest of the sycophants punditry continue to fawn all over him:

Sites for Political Reality and Refuge

I occasionally get phone calls bemoaning the political culture as exhibited by, for example, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough.

The fact is Joe Scarborough is a blow-hard; and his ilk are blow-hards and they do not define political reality, so one need not be too depressed.

Back when the Clintons were the victims of rightwing media (instead of the perpetrators like now), Ken Starr and his media cohorts went on and on right up to impeachment, when the public, sickened by Starr and the media's performance, gave Clinton his near-highest approval ratings at 69 percent.

It's worth noting that political reality is best defined by the American people and not Hillary Clinton and the media blowhards who want to take down Barack Obama.

Here are five sites to visit and read when even an occasional visit to cable TV becomes too disgusting to bear.

- Daily Kos
- AmericaBlog
- BuzzFlash
- Huffington Post
- Common Dreams
- And give Jon Stewart a look; Stewart always seems to capture well the absurdity of the media idiocy.
