Madison, Wisconsin City Clerk: 60 Percent Turnout Expected for Aug 14 Primary Election

Madison, Wisconsin — Early voting in Madison is humming as the City Clerk has projected up to a record 60 percent turnout in the Fall Primary Election Day.

It's not an accident.

The City Clerk, Maribeth Witzel-Behl, is known for two things: Baking good cookies, and administering elections with the objective all eligible Madison voters are able to cast a ballot and have that ballot counted.

August is too hot to bake cookies.
