Sheriff David Clarke, D.C. Cops—A Slice of American 'Law Enforcement'

Police lies are routine in America, the mass-incarceration-police state few
highlight. Wrongful convictions, police corruption and police misconduct
remain rackets protected by prosecutors, paid for by the American public.
Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, Three Deputies and One Sergeant Got Away with Battery, Assault, Corruption and Cover-ups

As Democracy Spring protesters demanding an end to "corruption of big money in our politics ... [to] ensure free and fair elections" were arrested in record numbers at the U.S. Capitol, (U.S.Uncut), it should be noted law enforcement in Milwaukee, Wisconsin has long veered into the corrupt, a national epidemic mostly ignored.

Appearing on national Fox News rightwing broadcasting this week, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke opined President Obama has left the country in "ruins," (The Blaze), typical blather from Clarke who wants to be a rightwing media star.

Who is this Sheriff David Clarke? He's a corrupt piece of human garbage with a badge, who should be facing misconduct in public office charges in Wisconsin.

Ira Robins, a former Milwaukee cop and private investigator, offers one summary of one recent miscarriage of justice, after penning a similar comment on Facebook in reaction to Clarke's latest insult of President Obama.

Sheriff Clarke is a self-serving politician who couldn't care less about our country.

In one 2013-14 incident where one of his deputies, [Joseph Quiles, one lousy, corrupt SOB], was involved in an accident and was clearly at fault, (and the video was there to prove he was at fault), the good Sheriff David Clarke blamed it on the woman driver, [Tanya Weyker], who is the victim of Milwaukee County Deputy Sheriff Joseph Quiles.

The Sheriff had evidence for more than a year that the woman was not at fault in the Quiles' crime, yet was falsely charged with driving while intoxicated. She was forced to retain an attorney.

Sheriff Clarke refused to cooperate with the media and made one derogatory remark about them after the other when they ask to see the tape recording that he was hiding. Eventually the case was dismissed against the woman and she is presently suing Sheriff Clarke and his Department for false arrest along with other various crimes, (Federal law suit, Weyker v. Deputy Joseph Quiles, et al).

The taxpayers will have to pay the bill.

This scumbag Sheriff pretends he is a stand-up guy but he is only using his office for personal gain. The kind of expert Fox News pretends is a wonderful person when he adds nothing positive to the County of Milwaukee.

A report, (and first-rate investigative journalism), from WITI-TV (Milwaukee) in July 2104 confirms Robins' narrative, as does the federal court decision, TANYA WEYKER, Plaintiff, v. DEPUTY JOSEPH QUILES, et al., Defendants, (Case No. 14-cv-782-pp), (2015 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 118463) in which Milwaukee County was ordered by United States District Judge Pamela Pepper to pay $65,239.33 to attorneys defending Tanya Weyker in September 2015.

It's likely most of us never heard of Tanya Weyker and her ordeal with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department and Milwaukee Country District Attorney.

As Radley Balko notes in the Washington Post:  "So the sheriff’s department had the video that exonerated Weyker two days after the accident, but it continued to allow prosecutors to prosecute her on provably false charges, even as she lay in traction in a hospital bed. And were it not for that video, it seems likely that she’d still be facing charges. (Add this to the growing bank of 'But for video …' stories.)"

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputy rolls through a stop sign and causes a violent crash. So why was the victim placed under arrest?

A FOX6 Investigation finds that a deputy's changing story may have changed one woman's life forever.

Tanya Weyker was hurt so badly, she couldn't blow into a breath-testing device or perform field sobriety tests. But a Sheriff's deputy arrested her for drunk driving anyway. And the County hung those charges over her head for nearly a year, even long after blood tests proved she was perfectly sober.

Tanya Weyker remembers it clearly. Not just the crash that broke her neck in four places, but the false accusations that followed.

"My reputation is everything to me," she said.

At the age of 25, Weyker's criminal history is as flawless as her posture. She was diagnosed with cancer at age three, and the prolonged radiation treatments literally curved her spine. So doctors inserted metal rods to keep her back straight.  The lifelong medical complications have not stopped her from pursuing a college degree. Or from driving a car. In fact, Weyker had never gotten so much as a speeding ticket until the night she crossed paths with Milwaukee County Deputy Sheriff Joseph Quiles.

It was February 20th, 2013, and Deputy Quiles was working the night shift on patrol at General Mitchell International Airport.

As he pulled out onto Howell Avenue to make his rounds, he T-boned a passing car and sent it spinning into a tree.

"Very scary," Weyker recalls.

Her spine was already fused with steel. Now, she had a fractured neck to go with it.

"It was a miracle I wasn't paralyzed," she said.

As rescue workers tended to Weyker, police and Sheriff's deputies started asking questions.

"One asked if I had anything to drink that night," she said. "And I told them a few sips from a friend's drink."

A deputy noted a light odor of alcohol on her breath. He said her speech was slurred. And her eyes looked red and glassy.

"I explained to him my eyes were red and glassy because I was crying," she said.

Tanya Weyker suffered a broken neck in the crash, but was arrested for drunk driving.
There is a lesson to be learned from Tanya Weyker's assault at the hands of the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department. Cops routinely lie, cheat and steal; and have the protection of fellow racketeers with a badge. Prosecutors will go along for the ride.

It's called a License to Lie, and it's endemic across America.

    1. Yes, and no charges filed against him or his conspirators. Crime pays if you're a cop.
