Updated - "Unlucky," Says Kathy Nickolaus

Update VII: Approximately one hour after saying she had no plans to step aside, Waukesha County Executive Dan Vrakas released the following statement (WTMJ):

"In a meeting this afternoon I presented two options to Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus, resignation, or designating the Deputy Clerk to run the upcoming recall election." Nickolaus then stepped aside.

Update V: Rambling now. ... Nickolaus denies incompetence; says she is "unlucky."

Update IV: "I have no plans," to step down, said Nickolaus.

Update III: "What went right is we received our results," said Nickolaus.

Update II: WTMJ stalling Kathy Nickolaus' interview.

Update: "The Journal Sentinel, and righty talkers Jeff Wagner and Charlie Sykes all threw the Waukesha County Clerk under the bus today, urging her to step aside," reads The Political Environment.

It's not that Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus has used her office for corrupt purposes that has the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and every thinking Republican calling for her resignation.

It's that she is utterly incompetent and an embarrassment to the Republican bastion of Waukesha County.
