Former state Sen. Randy Hopper entered “not guilty” pleas by mail to charges he faces for allegedly driving drunk following a Packers game.

Hopper declined to take a preliminary breath test. A few hours later, at the Fond du Lac County Jail, his blood alcohol content was measured at a level over the .08 percent legal limit for driving in Wisconsin, according to Chief Deputy Mark Strand.

Hopper was ousted from his state Senate seat in August when Democratic challenger Jessica King defeated him with 51 percent of the vote in a recall election.
