Interesting article in the Times on CERN's (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) Large Hadron Collider poised to start up operations again in December.
We could have had a larger collider creating the frontiers of high-energy physics for under the price of what we spend on wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in only one month.
The project was killed by Congress in 1993 by American politicians who will not be remembered as history's towering intellects.
