Military-Industrial Complex Drains US

One of my duties at Veterans Today where I work as an editor-writer is posting the U.S. Dept of Defence's daily 5:00 announcement of contracts awarded over $5 million.

The contract list is always long. The military-industrial complex is the driving engine of America and reading the contract awards drives home the point, even if President Obama's signing the $680 billion military policy bill this week didn't quite make it clear.

Suppose we took that money and instead invested most of it in alternative energy research that individual families could utilize, feeding Americans, national health insurance, expanding the frontiers of physics, biology and so on. Couldn't hurt.
